Pupil Transportation Supervisor -will oversee day-to-day delivery of school bus transportation to students of Charlottesville City Schools. Duties include staffing two-way radio station; receiving & addressing public comments; hiring & training; developing bus routes & schedules; ensuring that daily work assignments are covered; recommending service modifications during inclement weather & coordinating with City Schools Administration; investigating accidents & incidents; recordkeeping. Qualifications include high school diploma or GED equivalency & 5 or more years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. Preference given to applicants who possess knowledge of software for bus route planning & driver scheduling. Must: possess excellent verbal & written communication skills; be punctual & ready to provide leadership by example with regard to daily work habits; possess or obtain a CDL with air brake and school bus endorsement, within 3 months of employment; possess or obtain DMV certification as a second party CDL tester within 6 months of employment. Final applicants required to register with Selective Service must show proof of registration. Successful pre-employment drug testing is required before obtaining City employment. Hiring salary range $39,332.80 - $43,014.80/yr., 40 hrs./wk.
